Article 36 Committee of the Council of the European Union during the meeting of 8 July of 2005 following the discussions regarding facilitation of a use of the joint investigation teams decided to make a proposal to the Member States of the European Union to appoint the National Experts, who will act as the national contact points, providing a theoretical and practical assistance to the officials of the competent authorities for setting up the joint investigation teams.
As the National Expert in the matters of joint investigation teams the Republic of Latvia has appointed Prosecutor of the International Cooperation Division of the Department of Analysis and Management of the Prosecutor General’s Office:
